Weird holidays in July don’t really believe in subtlety.
The month opens with fireworks and somehow keeps escalating, chocolate, chili dogs, cheesecake, an entire day dedicated to celebrating pi as if it were a person. By the end of the month, you’ve also celebrated friendship, space exploration, uncommon musical instruments, and cotton candy.
Some are legitimate international observances. Others started as someone’s joke that got out of hand. Either way, they all earned a place on the July calendar.
